Ride Westside

Our instagram is nakedHeartspdx so you can see how we ride. Weekly themed rides. Different ride leaders each week, but you can expect the ride to be social paced (8ish mph), no-drop, safe and welcoming, store stop with safe clean bathroom access and the ride is always a loop. We practice consent and non-violence specially with car interactions, what one ride does affects how all rides get treated. The Mellow Mondays are a space for (new) ride leaders to try out ideas in a very supported environment. You’ll often see Mondays rides appearing again during the warmer riding season. We follow the shift code of conduct and expect everyone to be respectful of themselves and others around them. This is so we can actually relax and have fun and connect with each other in a softer space. This isn’t a sober ride but we ask for moderation to keep the atmosphere relaxed. We recommend Abraham Fixes bikes in N Williams and NomadCycles (e-bike specialist) for repairs/sales and parts. Our friends over at RideSafePDX host regular ride and we’ recommend those as a pleasant warm group to ride with.

Bar Botellon Tapas Menu

The days are getting shorter and the skies are getting cloudier - it's time to see and be seen! Dress up in your most visible attire, light up your bike, and join us for a fun evening ride. We’ll tour some streets and paths designed to make your bike trip comfortable and help you build confidence biking in the grey months. We'll meet at Salmon Springs fountain at 5:30 p.m. to show off our bright styles, then roll-out at 6:00 p.m. for a 7-8 mile ride through Portland's eastside. We'll end at Revolution Hall where folks can purchase food and socialize if so inclined. We ride at an easy pace (8-10 mph) and no one gets left behind. Beginners and families welcome. The ride is free and open to everyone!

We ride bikes in Southeast Portland. We start at Foster food carts, if you can support the food carts and bar before we head out on the bike ride we meet up at 7:00 and We ride out at 8pm. We have guests ride leaders often. Please come prepared. Bring your lights maybe a spare tube patch kit tools to do such. Don't litter they are homeless not your can butler's. Be kind to all travelers, everybody's got places to go things to do, and everybody wants to make it home in the end.

Thursday Night Ride is Portland’s longest-running weekly social ride, riding every Thursday night since 2015! Routes and ride leaders change weekly, but expect an energetic party-paced “rolling dive bar” of a ride for newcomers and regulars alike. Most rides will feature park and store stops, but come prepared to have fun and celebrate cycling together—other wheeled guests should respect the pace and space of cyclists. New leadership, same positive vibes. While you might expect some wheelies and other chaos, riders are expected to follow Shift’s Code of Conduct, and if you’re banned from any Shift rides, TNR isn’t for you. Find your bike Every Friday Night. We meet at Ladds circle, in the circle. If it is raining, head down to the covered area of Abernethy Elementary School. Ride slowly meets at 7 pm and departs roughly at 7:45/8ish pm. An honorary 3 minutes of Ladd laps (Ding Ding Ride/Ladd500) and then we send it. Sometimes we have guest ride leaders. Friday Night Rides are different every time. Sometimes we go to other rides happening around town during the summer. End of ride fires/good vibes/respect/no jerks/ We are a community. Respect each other! No aggressive, sexist, racist, or any other kind of BS will be tolerated. Violations against the code of conduct will be reported to shift2bikes. If you ride Sur-Ron/powerful electric bikes this is not the ride for you. You can come but you might be heckled. This is a bicycle ride. Bring lights/locks/responsible vibes/a cup/ Casual pace with some extra zip 10-20ish mile rides with store stops/park stops/art stops NOT NECESSARILY A NO DROP RIDE… ESPECIALLY IN THE FALL/WINTER/SPRING. Don't want to ride in the rain? Would you do it for all-you-can-eat bratwurst? Let's ride to Verboort and have some good eats. Meet at the Wallace Park picnic shelter near the basketball courts. Gather at 8am, departing at 8:30am - can't be too late to dinner. Pace will be spirited enough to stay warm but slow enough to not show up too sweaty. There will be a few regroup/snack breaks at the top of the climbs, as shown on the route. PLEASE be aware that there are some significant hills on this route, and we will be far from TriMet service at times. You are expected to be self-sufficient! Bring a lock, lights, rain gear, and some cash! Fenders are appreciated :) Dinner is $23, and there will be a wait to eat after we arrive. Luckily, there's a beer garden to pass the time in... There will be sauerkraut and sausage for sale. Community led ride - many folks now know the route and different folks can point the way each week! There are three meeting points: 1. SE Clinton St/41st Ave at 10 am (ride at 10:05) 2. SE Clinton St/26 Ave at 10:10 am (ride at 10:15) 3. Tilikum Bridge at (former) PDX Opera ~10:25 am; leaving from Tilikum location ~10:30 am 4. Arrive at PSU Market ~11 am Ride is on every Saturday the market is open (year round except weekend between Christmas and New Year). We will make every effort to note weather-related closures here promptly.

Come out for a guided ride exploring where to get rain gear (new and used) in Portland, practicing wet weather riding technique, followed by hot chocolate and info-sharing at Clever Cycles bike shop. We'll let our smiles be our umbrellas (but bring rain gear if needed). This ride is a loop (will return to start) and is about 8 miles long. Perfect for folks new to Portland, new to the bike or just getting back on their wheels, we'll travel at an easy-pace (8-10 mph) and no one left behind - and we'll ride rain or shine. 5th Annual! For this FREE community event, Milagro Theatre staff will give all riders a garland of artificial marigolds, whose orange and yellow colors are believed to represent sun and light, helping to guide spirits back to the world of the living. This year’s bike ride marks a powerful transition--crossing the bridge to expand partnerships into the Northeast, uniting two neighborhoods through Mexican tradition, art, and collective memory. The ride will join Lloyd EcoDistrict’s Blumenauer Bridge Witching Hour Celebration. The Street Trust with support from Milagro and Cycle Homies will lead a five-mile route that features intermittent stops at participating business locations that are participating by hosting their own altars for public viewing. The ride is a slow-paced, stay-together loop, with stops for the altar visits, and is family friendly. The public is encouraged to dress in costume and decorate their bikes for the occasion. Milagro partners with Central Eastside Together to match member businesses with Latino artists to create altars, which are displayed throughout the Festival. The Blumenauer Witching Hour is coming — a one-day Halloween & Día de los Muertos festival transforming the Eastside into a vibrant, car-free corridor of celebration and connection. For the first time ever, a full stretch of the future Green Loop will close to traffic and open for people. Anchored by the Blumenauer Bridge and the cultural hub of the Bear Blocks, this community-powered event reimagines our streets as spaces for creativity, joy, and sustainable urban life. At Witching Hour, you'll find: 🎃 Pumpkin painting stations 👻 Pet costume contest & bike decorating parades 🛍️ Pop-up market with local makers 🌮 Food vendors + beer garden 🎶 Live DJs & music performances 🎨 Street games, inflatables, and hands-on sustainability fun 🛍️ A “bike-in” screening of Coco 💀 Milagro’s Día de los Muertos Altar Ride from 12-3 PM 📣 Tabling Opportunities We’re inviting community groups, nonprofits, and local businesses to host a booth or table. **Rescheduled for 11/1 due to weather! it's a night ride with some busier car-centric roads and we don't want to die.** Now that the nights are getting darker and the sun is setting earlier it can be hard to find the light and joy we find during night time bike rides during the summer. For me, neon signs evoke a combination of nostalgia and futurism and have a great warmth brought into the cold dark of the city night. Join me on a "tour" of some notable neon signs around Portland that glow year round and keep the nights bright. We'll see both large and small signs around North, Northeast and Northwest. Many of these signs are located on car-centric streets like Broadway and Interstate that we don't often think to ride on, let's get out there build community and enjoy the glow! The route is about 23 Miles long and will be generally moderately paced (10 miles per hour) with a no-drop mentality. We will stop around 10 miles into the ride at the plaza west of Hollywood Theater for a store stop at either Trader Joe's or the convenience store. We will finish up on Mississippi Ave around 9:00 and plan to hang out for a while in the area.
